Why Chetwode?

Chetwode is a small village set in the County of Buckinghamshire, England. It is old enough to be listed in the Doomsday Book of 1086 commissioned by William the Conqueror.

Like many families, its branches have spread out over the world. The English Chetwodes later rose to become members of the British aristocracy. The Chetwode family arrived in America in the late 1600's and settled in New England, Virginia and California under various spellings of the name. My association with the Virginia Chitwoods was the inspiration for our company's name. Its small origins but large reach, sustainability over time, preservation of sound ethics and honoring ones commitments to friends and customers, are also what we seek for our business.

Mike Pagett

A native of London, England, Mike served a six year engineering apprenticeship at West London’s Hooper & Company, one of England’s oldest manufacturers of bespoke bodies for such automobiles as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Daimler. Looking for new opportunities, he immigrated to America and has held management positions at companies in New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Always self-taught, Mike is a creator and inventor at heart, who is passionate about finding solutions to design problems using the best materials. He holds two patents for desks designed to be used for computer-aided design—some of which are in regular use at NASA. Mike and his team know better than anyone that efficient and attractive design is a necessity in the building of kitchens and bathrooms. Chetwode Cabinetry was born out of this desire to create well-crafted products for customers, with a keen eye for detail, and a devotion to customer service and manufacturing practices that use soy-based glue instead of harmful formaldehyde-based solvents or particle board.

Chetwode’s team of perfectionists strive to make the most beautiful, sustainable cabinets and kitchens, and as a result, they have the happiest customers around.

My condo had a small kitchen dominated by cupboards and appliances. By the time we finished changing it Chetwode not only had it feeling more spacious but we had a dining nook as well. Amazing.
